| Townsend Institute friends and family, we want to share with you a quick note from Dr. Townsend himself: "Greetings: You are most likely aware of the Fellows Program of the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling at Concordia University Irvine. The Fellows are one of the key value-adds of our programs. Basically, Fellows are highly accomplished individuals, who have achieved substantial success and standing in the fields of Leadership, Counseling or Executive Coaching and Consulting, which are the areas we train in at the Institute. They range from bestselling authors to highly sought-out professionals to heads of large organizations. They are what any students "wants to be when they grow up", so to speak.
The Fellows engage with our students both at our regular Virtual Classrooms, and at our Kickoff Sessions, either face to face, or on live video. They present content from their latest passion or book, and they answer questions from our students regarding their areas of expertise. Our students come away with the experience of actually personally engaging with a person who is at the top of their field.
We have recently partnered with several new Fellows, and we are excited to get them on deck with our students! They have so much to offer. So, here are our recent additions to the team:
Jon Acuff: A New York Times Bestselling author of six books and was named an INC top 100 leadership speaker. His work is taught by the NFL Player's Association and each year he talks to some of the biggest brands in the world including Microsoft, Nissan, Comedy Central, and FedEx.
Austin and Christi Davenport: A Dallas-based couple that spends their after-work hours as speakers, stage actors, and advocates for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Eric Geiger: Senior Pastor of Mariners Church in Irvine, CA, a large and vibrant community in Orange County. Eric is also past Senior Vice President of LifeWay Publishing. He has authored several books on leadership and spiritual life.
Mike Hyatt: Author, podcaster (This is Your Life), blogger, speaker, and the former chairman and CEO of Thomas Nelson. He wrote, Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, a New York Times Best Seller.
Josh Kwan: President of The Gathering, a learning community of philanthropists motivated by their Christian faith. Previously, he was the Co-Founder and Partner at Praxis, a creative engine for redemptive entrepreneurship.
Donald Miller: Author, public speaker, and business owner. He is the CEO of StoryBrand, a company that helps businesses clarify their messages. He wrote, Blue Like Jazz, a New York Times Best Seller.
Josh and Christi Straub: Authors, speakers, marriage & family strategists at LifeWay, co-founders of Famous at Home--helping leaders build emotional intelligence and 22:6 Parenting, and their newest book, What Am I Feeling?
